As a mom who has had 2 natural births, I can definitely say that labor is the most mentally and physically challenging (mostly mentally…) thing that I’ve ever gone through. What I can also say though is that my experiences with labor and delivery have also been incredibly satisfying, empowering, and life changing. Looking back I see how supernatural both events were, and how the Lord was with me and how He helped and empowered me to go through them.
For Christian moms, it is especially important and beneficial to lean on and place our focus on God during childbirth especially because things do get increasingly challenging as labor progresses. Your mind may begin to start straying, and anxiety and fear may settle into your spirit. Aside from meditating on your scripture-based birth affirmations, another great way to quiet your mind and keep it stayed on Him during labor, so He can keep you perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3) , is to listen to Gospel music.

Creating a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere is one of the keys to coping with the pain of labor naturally. Of course every mom is different. For example, I actually wanted complete silence when I was in labor! Even though I LOOOVE Gospel music and listen to it nearly every single day, I wanted silence. But you may find (or not) that you’d prefer to have music. Your needs may change during labor and that’s ok! Either way, it’s always best to prepare yourself for success by creating an empowering labor playlist.
If having a peaceful Christ-centered natural birth is something that’s important to you, check out this labor playlist with 25 beautiful praise and worship songs that will help empower and motivate you as you progress through labor!

I had planned my labour playlist but didn’t even have time to play it in the end as I was induced. Lovely to see a lot of my favourites here.
I am loving this list! Definitely a great way to incorporate faith in a big way on an amazing day!

Music is so empowering, especially when in labor! I’ve had three kiddos and the power of a good playlist wasn’t lost on me – I used one every single time! For the Christian moms and moms to be out there, this playlist will play a huge role in getting through labor!
Labor is sooooo hard! Anything to bring comfort and encouragement during that time is so welcome! I love the idea of having a playlist!
I wish I would have seen this post before having my two kiddos. I connect through music, so I had a playlist ready the second time around. I also used it while nursing in the middle of the night.
Such a great list! There were a few on there that I didn’t recognize. A song I’ve been obsessing over is, House On A Hill, by Amanda Lindsey Cook.
